Kudos go out to Eric Blom, an instructional assistant at Riverside Elementary School.

Kathy Thode said the following about Eric in their nomination, "Eric Blom is always willing to help out when needed. He has excellent attendance and is a positive role model for students at Riverside. He is willing to help in many different capacities at school, whether it is helping in a special education classroom, covering a recess duty, or assisting with preschool students. He builds strong relationships with students and staff. Thanks for all you do, Mr. B!"

Whether it’s providing resources for teachers, working to get materials for our students or providing support for planning, she’s always there! Kudos go out to Lora Nyhof, an Instructional Assistant at Spalding Park Environmental Sciences Elementary School.

She has worked miracles with kids, if only for the day, that seemed impossible. She takes on every challenge thrown towards her with an optimistic attitude and handles stressful situations so gracefully, you wouldn’t know she was ever stressed. She is very thorough when looking at IEPs and has great suggestions for IEP teams. She has helped the team at Riverside so much. We appreciate her positive attitude, her willingness to help, and her excellent feedback. She goes above and beyond to help the special education teachers at Riverside meet the needs of our students. She offers ideas, brainstorms classroom management strategies, and overall has been an amazing resource to me as a new teacher."

She goes out of her way to help other staff members by sharing ideas and resources. She also makes lessons fun for her students and creates learning materials that are unique to her students. She will listen when someone needs to talk and she offers great advice. She also likes to remain professional and objective, which is a wonderful thing in education."

She lifts me up when I am sad and she knows the right thing to say to any student when they are having a hard time or are stressed out. She is truly the best teacher. Kudos go out to Katharina Albrecht, an English and Language Arts teacher at East Middle School.

A grateful student said the following about Katharina in their nomination, "Mrs. Albrecht taught me a lot of things throughout my 6th grade year. When I first moved to East Middle, I felt very welcomed by her and was glad to be in her class. Mrs. Albrecht also helped me write a lot of essays and learn tricks and skills to make them better. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be as good as I am now with writing essays. I give all my thanks to her for being the amazing teacher she is!"

Kudos go out to Angela Mrla, a substitute teacher at East Middle School.

Erica Somsky said the following about Angela in their nomination, "Angela always comes subs with a smile on her face. She has positive interactions with everyone she sees. She nearly an hour away, and on Friday, January 19th, she drove into town to sub when the driving conditions were not great. She arrived early with the same smile and positive attitude she always has. Thank you, Angela! East Middle School appreciates you!"

Kudos go out to Blair Taylor, the Principal at Nodland and Sunnyside Elementary Schools.

It goes without saying that being at two different schools is challenging, but he tries his best to be supportive of all employees equally! Nodland and Sunnyside are so lucky to have him."

A grateful colleague said the following about Jen in their nomination, "Jen is the first person people see when they come in the office. She is friendly and helpful to all. She manages many things in the office such as bussing, answering phones, extra payroll, recess duty, tutoring payroll, and helps organize events such as Light up the gym and the fall festival. She also fills in as a 'nurse' when needed. She is part of a team that helps the office run smoothly!"

Kudos go out to Alissa Williams, an assistant principal at West Middle School.

Eighth-grade staff at West Middle School said the following about Alissa in their nomination, "We are sending a shoutout to Alissa Williams for all she does for West Middle School. Each day she is continuously supporting teachers and students. Alissa keeps the communication lines open and keeps teachers informed with student updates. Alissa will sub when short-staffed or cover where necessary. Alissa is a great addition to the WMS Team and we all notice and appreciate her hard work!"

Julie Sweeney said the following about Tracey in their nomination, "I would like to recognize Tracey Pomerson for her assistance in my class. She recently worked with one of my students with such poise and comfort. She stepped up and was there when my student needed her and I want to acknowledge her for her efforts in going above and beyond my expectations. She truly cares about students and demonstrated with my student recently! I'm so thankful!"
