2026 graduation speakers announced

Sioux City, Iowa -- Sioux City Community School District is pleased to announce the District's 2026 graduation speakers. Molly Boatman (North High School), Todd Siefker (West High School), and Jacob Mattoon (East High School) will deliver the commencement speech for their respective schools' graduation ceremonies.

Boatman was selected as North High School's Teacher of the Year for 2026. At North High, she is known for her work in the special education department, Building Leadership Team, and the school's social committee. Boatman is well-respected by her students and works tirelessly to help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Siefker was selected as West High School's Teacher of the Year and District Teacher of the Year for 2022. A West High alum, Siefker has worked in the District for 21 years, teaching Spanish. He is known for emphasizing the human connection behind the language and for his love of West High.

Mattoon was selected as East High School's Teacher of the Year for 2026. An East High alum, he teaches science, serves on the Building Leadership Team, and is a teacher mentor. Mattoon is an Eagle Scout and is known for exemplifying others above himself and leading by example.

The District's graduation ceremonies will be held at 7 pm at the Tyson Events Center:

  • Tuesday, May 26: North High School

  • Wednesday, May 27: West High School

  • Thursday, May 28: East High School

Approximately 900 students graduate from the District's three high schools annually.
